“POLD METHOD OF OSCILLATORY MOBILIZATION. AN EVOLUTION IN MANUAL PHYSICAL THERAPY.”
Mobilization techniques have evolved over the years; from passive to active mobilizations, from low speed to high speed and, currently, up to rhythmic mobilizations.
The POLD method applies oscillatory mobilizations at a frequency adequate for each tissue or joint (matching their resonance frequency) that is maintained throughout the treatment session.
This procedure generates mechanical and neurological effects that are not found with other mobilization techniques, with highly effective therapeutic results. In particular, when applied to treat mechanical and neurological degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, scoliosis, muscle overload, joint limitations and especially herniated discs, it has been proven to be the most effective method in ameliorating the symptoms and enabling disk repair, while preventing the need of surgery.
This presentation will explain the mechanical and physiological basis of the POLD method and show the scientific evidence behind. Also, a short practical demonstration of the application of this procedure on herniated discs will be displayed on screen.
